The Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences (NUCATS) Institute is seeking community stakeholders to serve on the inaugural NUCATS Community Advisory Board. The mission of the NUCATS Institute is to accelerate innovative and inclusive clinical research from the lab to the community to improve human health for all, and for all communities.

We will strive to ensure this Advisory Board reflects Chicagoland’s robustly diverse population, with priority given to those that bear a disproportionate burden of health inequities, and with a particular focus on diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual and gender identity, and faith as well as those with a deep knowledge of Chicagoland’s diverse neighborhoods and communities, interest in community-academic research partnerships, or expertise in institutional change. All Chicagoland community members are eligible (including representatives from local Federally Qualified Health Centers).

A total of eight members will be selected to serve on the NUCATS Community Advisory Board, and these members will be appointed to one-year renewable terms. The Board is expected to meet quarterly, and compensation for members’ time and expertise is $2,000 per year. Nominations will be reviewed by a panel composed of members of the Alliance for Research in Chicagoland Communities (ARCC) Steering Committee and NUCATS Institute leadership. Candidate finalists may be invited to participate in a brief phone call or Zoom meeting.

Nomination Deadline: Extended through March 7, 2022

Invitations to CAB Members: Sent by April 1, 2022
